EdUmatics Partner - Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg

The Institution

The Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg focuses strongly on educational research and on pre-service-teacher-training for primary and secondary teacher students. We have a lot of groups conducting interdisciplinary collaboration (as within the doctoral programmes EXMNU and Pro|Mat|Nat) and the Institute of Mathematics is involved in several other EU-projects (e.g. PRIMAS (Katja Maaß), COMPASS (Katja Maaß). In all these research projects different aspects of mathematics education are investigated. One focus is the use of new technologies in teaching and learning mathematics and the development of new learning environments which allows learners more of a social constructivist approach to mathematical topics. One of the current projects is CAYEN, where the role of Computeralgbera for learning basic algebra is investigated.
