Before starting this module, you should be acquainted with basic skills on the use of dynamic geometry systems, of spreadsheet software and computer algebra systems. These skills can be learnt in Module 1.
You should have already used technology like a computer or handheld device and know your opportunities to deploy them in your classroom setting. This will enable you to anticipate student skills and behaviour and solve the teacherís tasks in this module.
If you do not have any experience with the use of technology, we recommend that you complete Module 1 first.
The "Basic Competencies" section will revise basic skills on how to make conjectures with certain software tools using a single representation. These will each take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
The main activities involve the mathematical topics growth sequences, data and statistics and the introduction of the derivative. Each of these topics consist of a review of the mathematical background, a teacher activity (15-30 minutes), several classroom activities (which each take about one lesson to conduct in class) and a methodological reflection on the use of ICT in the activities.
